Shaad Bashir Bidiwala, M.D.

I had dealt with back ,leg , and feet pain for 3+ years that was getting progressively worse . I visited a Vein Specialist and wore compression socks for a couple of years . Vein specialist discovered bi-lateral nerve damage . Imaging reviewed a slip disc , fractures in spine , vertebra damage , and need of screws and rods . I put off surgery as long as I could , choosing Steroid injections in my lower back . I tried this for close to two years . I visited three back Surgeons and wasn’t comfortable with their approach / solutions . I am so pleased that I chose Dr.Bidiwal and he took me as a patient . He showed me and explained in detail his approach to my issues . His staff had everything arranged , including a post -surgery brace , answering concerns and questions . I was given a thorough plan. I had my surgery 8/22/‘23 , I was hoping for some relief , but now , just seven months later , I am pain free ! Dr .Bidiwala paid me a visit each morning making his rounds before his daily scheduled surgeries . His P.A. , Snow , also accompanied Dr . Bidiwala on my morning hospital visits . Physical therapy was scheduled in a location convenient for me , along with my ‘ stretching exercises ‘, water therapy , and water aerobics has me feeling no pain and able to walk 4-5+ miles now , I was down to .3 mile walks prior to my surgery . Dr.Bidiwala ‘s staff had prescriptions filled before needed , post imaging and office visits arranged . I highly recommend Dr.Bidiwala as your back Surgeon , he has great ‘ bed -side manners ‘, explains in detail , even recovery time to expect to recover . The daily exercises , walks , therapy wasn’t easy , but I am telling you , well worth the effort . This was my first overnight hospital stay and surgery , I am 72 years old , and if I can do it , you can too . Do all that you can to condition yourself prior surgery , it will help you in your recovery . Do as instructed by Dr.Bidiwala and you will be glad you did .

Dr. Bidiwala and entire staff are amazing! If I EVER have any surgery that needs "repeating", (due to my not paying close attention to Dr. Bidiwala) well, he is the one I will go back to. Their service is far beyond anything I have ever experienced.

I was referred to Dr. Bidiwala in early 2019 with cervical radiculopathy, a cyst at L3, nerve damage in my left leg and urinary incontinence. Dr. Bidiwala fused C 4, 5 and 6. The surgery went off without a hitch. It's been 4 years since and while I won't say my neck is like a kid's again, its SO much better and my range of motion is very good. He also removed the cyst in my spine and fused L4 and L5. Because my bones are so soft and because I'm a bull in a china shop, the screws came loose. Warning. When your surgeon tells you not to lift or bend, its really smart to listen. So bigger mechanical stuff was needed and a "360" was performed. Piece of cake. When I tell people I had a 360 they're horrified and tell me about how someone they know suffered. Not so for me. The general surgeons Dr. Bidiwala works with are excellent and he claims once they were done all he needed to do was unscrew the old stuff and insert the new. I was up and around the next day without help. I had been on prescription anti inflammatories for almost three years prior and didn't need them after the surgery. It's a year later and I'm doing well. The screws are intact. What's great is I've regained probably 90% of the feeling in my left leg. I don't fall anymore. My foot doesn't flap. However, even though the nerve to my bladder is no longer impinged, the nerve was damaged. So the incontinence required the help of a urogynecologist. But it's so much better now! I'm Dr. Bidiwala's biggest fan. When I tell people about him, I'm always amazed at the feedback. He's truly incredible. After hearing me describe a surgery Dr. Bidiwala performed, my dentist researched him and told me people come from all over the country to see him. I met a surgical equipment salesperson who told me he's observed many of Dr. Bidiwala's surgeries and said he's the most technically skilled surgeon of all he's observed. I was in the ER at Baylor downtown for an unrelated illness and mentioned Dr. Bidiwala to one of the nurses and was told "He's a god around here". Yet he's not egotistical in any way. He's kind, patient and very empathetic. I just love the man.

I first met Dr. Bidiwala when I was in excruciating back and leg pain. He was so kind, compassionate, and very easy to communicate with. He took plenty of time with me and fully explained the procedure necessary to relieve my pain. My surgery went well and Dr. Bidiwala visited me everyday in the hospital and again took plenty of time with my family and me. His staff is amazing as well. The staff exhibits the same kindness and compassion as Dr. Bidiwala. I truly felt at home in their office. I highly recommend Dr. Bidiwala. He encompasses everything I could have ever hoped for my care. Thank you, Dr. Bidiwala, and also to your amazing staff!!!!!

I had waited several years to have my back surgery and finally reached a point where I had no choice but to have the surgery. Dr Bidiwala made it less stressful and my surgery was flawless. I had back pain for years and now it is wonderful to not hurt every time I move. Thanks to Dr Bidiwala and his staff for helping me through this surgery, you are the best.

Dr. Bidiwala is not only very skilled in the performance of the actual surgery, but his ability to communicate in understandable terms to his patients, the details of of procedure and how that can remedy the patient's physical issues, is excellent. Additionally, his staff members are very friendly and helpful and communicate well with the patients.

Doctor Bidiwala was awesome! From the office staff to the surgery and after care (Snow) everything was first rate ! No more pain. if you have back pain highly recommend there guys.

Everyone has been so customer service oriented since the first time I stepped into the office. Dr Bidiwala has been informative answering all of my questions. He performed a successful surgical procedure for me. I feel so much better now! I do not have the excruciating pain that I had prior to the procedure. I am so glad that I found Dr. B, I will recommend him to my family and friends who may need his expertise. Thank you Dr B, my life is so much better now.

I have been a patient of Dr Bidiwala for 10 years now . He is a great doctor and he is very thorough and doesn’t rush through the appt. He is very caring and makes me feel seen and and heard. The office staff is always caring and goes the extra mile for you as well.
